After the application is reviewed by the staff, the applicant is notified that Phase 1 of the application process is complete and eligibility to advance to Phase 2 of the application process is either confirmed or denied. When declining an application for a service dog, the decision will be promptly communicated to the applicant without explanation or reason, unless the Board of Directors of Program in their discretion determines that some explanation is appropriate.

A letter or prescription from your doctor stating your diagnosis is required.

We will notify you if you are approved.

Approval does not guarantee a dog

As dogs become available they are carefully matched with approved clients.

VIP does not use a first come, first served wait list model. We strive to match candidates with the best dog for their unique situation and needs. Some candidates may receive a dog in as little as 2 months while others may wait as much as two to three years.

Please email for information on donation to acquire a VIP dog

Clients are not able to request a breed specific dog or gender, but rather the board  of V.I.P. will evaluate each individual dog with our clients needs and place them accordingly. Should a client have allergy releated issues a doctor's prescription may be requested. The V.I.P board will than proceed with proper placement

Please keep in mind that the application can be denied at any point during the application process.
